Letting Go

This week marks a big first step for us in our journey to Spain. While we are still just approaching the mid-point of fundraising, we knew it was time to sell our home in Denver, Colorado where we have lived for the past 4+ years. To be honest, this home was our dream home. We have grown to love our neighbors and we feel so comfortable in our community. But, to step into something new, you have to let go of what’s known and comfortable. So, with tonight being our last night in the house we’ve called home for 4 years, the feeling of stepping into the unknown is pretty strong!

God told Abram to leave everything he knew, all that was comfortable:

“Now the Lord said to Abram, "Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you.”

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭12:1‬

What’s amazing is that Abram didn’t even know where he was going! What trust! What stress! But here’s the promise:

‬‬“And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.”

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭ESV‬

When you step out in obedience to God’s call, you have to let go, but you can be assured that He will fill you with so much more! By Abram’s obedience to leave his home nation, he became “a great nation”. He gained so much more than what he left behind.

We believe there are people who will be born into the Kingdom by steps of obedience! It’s worth it all!
